RECUR’s partnership with Paramount global will bring Nickelodeon’s most popular characters to the metaverse. The design and branded experiences company announced on Friday it will offer some of the most iconic moments and characters from Rugrats and Hey Arnold! series as NFTs to Nickelodeon fans.

The platform allows fans to buy, collect, and re-sell digital products and collectibles (NFTs) of branded experiences.

RECUR is bringing some of Nickelodeon’s most iconic 90’s programming into the metaverse, as part of the overall partnership with Paramount Global. The collaboration starts with an NFT drop of characters and moments drawn from the two popular 90s series.

Fans of the show will have an opportunity to own a part of Nick’s history by participating in the NFT drop.

The initial drop is composed of 10,000 Nickelodeon NFT packs to be offered through Nickelodeon.xyz — a Paramount-branded NFT marketplace Powered by RECUR. The NFTs will be available for auction on July 19, at a cost of $50 each. Each pack will contain a unique 1-for-1 profile picture (PFP) based on twelve characters from Rugrats and Hey Arnold!.

Each series will contribute six characters reflecting memorable moments for Nickelodeon fans around the world.

Commenting on the project about the partnership, Zach Bruch, RECUR CEO, said: “Building this exciting, retro Nickelodeon experience transported me back to some of the best childhood memories like sitting on the couch, enjoying Nick cartoons after school with friends. The Nick Web3 experience will bring fans back to those incredible and nostalgic moments.”

Bruch said he was thrilled to see the iconic characters in the metaverse.

Doug Rosen, Senior Vice President, Games and Emerging Media, Paramount Global commented: “We are excited to share new versions of fan favourites and allow for Nick fans worldwide to collect and enjoy 1/1 collectibles from their favourite childhood moments,” adding, “We are thrilled to work with RECUR to engage with Nick fans who have loved these characters for a long time and can now engage with them in a whole new way.”
