Prada has announced its first solo NFT drop following its foray into the NFT space in collaboration with Adidas. The NFT collection is linked to Prada Timecapsule, a monthly online event that offers a different exclusive product available in limited quantities for 24 hours each month.
On the first Thursday of every month, shoppers can purchase a Timecapsule product and receive a Prada NFT as a gift. Each limited edition Timecapsule item comes with a serial number and is wrapped in custom packaging.
The accompanying NFT will be gifted upon purchase of the physical product, and will also include a serial number and the number of the corresponding physical item.
For the first Timecapsule drop, Prada has collaborated with Cassius Hirst, the son of world-renowned artist Damien Hirst, for one-off gender-neutral shirts decorated in Cassius Hirst’s signature mask and brain scan patterns. The drop follows Cass x Prada, Cassius Hirst’s reinterpretation of Prada America’s Cup sneakers.
Prada’s NFT drops will typically be limited to 50 items, but the fashion house plans to double its stock for the first Timecapsule drop, which will take place on Jun 2 at 9am ET. The shirts will be available in black and white, and there are only 100 of them up for grabs.
The price of the shirt won’t be revealed until the day of the drop but it will be priced in fiat instead of crypto. Those who’ve bought a physical Timecapsule item from its launch in 2019 will also be gifted NFTs.

Owners of a Timecapsule NFT will enjoy exclusive benefits and experiences, as well as early access to future drops. The utilities of the NFT will be revealed in Prada Crypted, the brand’s newly formed community server on Discord, which launched today.
Prada’s integration of NFT into a physical initiative that was launched three years ago is not only a way for the brand to reward existing customers, but also a way for it to get more people to adopt Web3.
The Timecapsule project is built on the Ethereum blockchain, leveraging the Aura Blockchain Consortium’s NFT solution and technology.
