Sylvester Stallone is joining the NFT craze with his own project called PlanetSly NFT Collection. The Golden Globe Award winner is dropping a limited edition of 9,997 generative non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to celebrate his art and acting career.
According to the announcement, the ‘Rocky’ actor curated the collection himself and is conveying detailed information through the website PlanetSly.com. The project is a property of the TheBIZ.com venture, which he co-created with entrepreneur Bill Zanker.
Deadline broke the news in an exclusive coverage, which also said that the launch will happen in April. The NFT drop will cover both digital and physical collectibles tiered in different levels that grant holders the ability to interact with Stallone.
Some of the exclusive benefits granted to holders of the NFTs at various levels include “a dinner, virtual movie screening, exclusive events and more, offering unique access to one of Hollywood’s big global stars.”
The collection is composed of mainly, images of Stallone taken from different stages of his career, with 25 of the rarest autographed by the famous actor.
Stallone calls PlanetSly a place where his fans, collectors and NFT enthusiasts can become part of his NFT community.
The collection is inspired by the famous ‘Rocky’ film series, which he turned into one of the most famous films of all time, despite having been an underdog in the industry at the time.
The NFTs in the PlanetSly Collection are called “SlyGuys”. The terms of the collection require that NFT collectors and Stallone fans must show their “SlyLove” to be eligible for an invitation-only pre-sale.
Those interested in participating in the presale can post a video on social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, TikTok and others. The video must demonstrate something related to Stallone fandom as an impression, art, performance, or how the iconic actor changed impacted on their lives.
The collection is minted on the Ethereum blockchain and will be launched through the OpenSea NFT marketplace. It will give some holders access to the “The Ultimate Stallone Experience, Dinner and Afterparty” to be held in Miami.
