The world’s leading multi-chain NFT platform by sales volume Magic Eden has teamed up with decentralised cloud GPU provider Aethir to power large-scale blockchain gaming.

The two companies will collaborate to create a unified Web3 gaming ecosystem that leverages Aethir’s enterprise-grade GPU infrastructure and Magic Eden’s NFT platform.

According to the announcement, Magic Eden’s gaming partners will gain access to Aethir’s premium GPU-as-a-service platform, while Aethir will refer its gaming partners to use Magic Eden as their go-to NFT platform.

This announcement comes just weeks after Magic Eden overtook the likes of OpenSea, Blur and Tensor to become the world’s largest NFT platform by volume.

It also comes at a time when more quality blockchain games are beginning to hit the market, which the two companies believe will result in increased demand leading to a higher number of users.

“With the rapidly growing number and quality of blockchain games, the gaming user base is also increasing. Blockchain gaming needs sufficiently scalable cloud infrastructure to accommodate the rising influx of new games and players,” the companies wrote in a press release shared with NFTgators.

This is where Aethir’s decentralised cloud GPU resources come in handy as it looks to power the next generation of blockchain games. The company uses distributed cloud servers to ensure a flawless experience for gamers regardless of location.

Aethir believes blockchain gaming projects will require more GPU power to accommodate the growing number of users.

Commenting on the partnership, Daniel Wang, Aethir’s CEO said in a statement: “Magic Eden is a true NFT powerhouse with an unprecedented experience in supporting blockchain gaming and Web 3.0 innovation. As an industry leader among NFT marketplaces, their role complements Aethir’s disruptive GPU cloud infrastructure as a revolutionary DePIN framework for powering cloud gaming.”

According to Wang, the partnership will bring more scalability to blockchain gaming “providing NFT gaming studios with the resources to seamlessly integrate millions of new users worldwide.”

On the other hand, Chris Akhavan, Magic Eden’s CRO believes Aethir’s compute infrastructure has the potential to solve critical issues for distributing web3 games. By leveraging Aethir’s platform, blockchain gaming studios will be able to make their games instantly playable through any browser, Akhavan said.

“This provides the opportunity to reach more gamers in environments that aren’t restricted by the major app stores while giving gamers an instant path to web3 games without the need for lengthy download and install times,” he added.
