Women in NFTs (WIN), a community for women and non-binary people in Web3, has announced that it will be hosting a series of events on Jun 21 during NFT NYC. The events will bring together the expanding woman- and non-binary-identifying NFT community in-person and will include an art gallery, food, and conversations.
The events are sponsored by entities that are active in the Web3 space such as Jump Crypto, Holaplex, Brave, EmpireDAO, Dialect, Metaplex, Project Eluüne, Mtn Pay, Stardust, and GM House.
WIN will kick off the week with its GM Brunch at Stardust from 9am-12pm EDT, where women and non-binary individuals in the NFT space will get to connect with each other. After brunch, will be co-hosting a gallery event with one of the most prominent names in Web3, Jump Crypto, at EmpireDAO.
The activation – ‘Women in NFTs X Jump Crypto‘ – will include prominent female NFT artists such as Pink Skull Queen and Bangerooo, among many others. NFTs from notable female creators will be sold on Women In NFTs Marketplace which will be launching at the event.
The marketplace will be supported by Holaplex, an open-sourced, decentralised platform that allows people to create their own branded marketplace, powered by Metaplex’s AuctionHouse protocol and running on the Solana blockchain.
Additionally, the event will feature an NFT photobooth created and supported by Mtn Pay, allowing participants can turn their selfies into NFTs on the spot.
Founded in 2021 by Isabella Arnao, Lauren DelFabro, Kayla Kane (digital marketing manager, Holaplex), and Meg McWilliams (Project Eluüne), Women in NFTs is on a mission to encourage more women to enter the NFT/Web3 market, help amplify their voices in the NFT/Web3 space, and to create a network of support. Since its founding, the community has amassed over 28,000 followers on Twitter.
“This ‘community of communities’ has grown significantly since it started last year, which has been super encouraging to see. While there is still more work to do to bring even more diversity into the space, it’s evolved a lot from last year – it goes to show how important it is for us to keep doing this work alongside the other vibrant communities and members hoping to ensure web3 is welcoming & built inclusively,” said Isabella Arnao, WIN co-founder.
More than 1500 speakers and hundreds of talks, panels, discussions, as well as dozens of community and satellite events will be taking place at NFT NYC from Jun 20-23. For more, check out this guide to the must-sees at the biggest industry event of the year.
