NFL Rivals, the first NFT mobile game licensed by the National Football League (NFL) has announced a partnership with Miami Dolphins. The partnership gives Rivals in-stadium branding and sweepstake opportunities for fans to win VIP experiences at Miami Dolphins home games during the season.

This partnership is part of the NFT game’s strategy to reach a wider user base ahead of the upcoming NFL season kickoff.

NFL Rivals is an NFT mobile game created by Mythical Games, a gaming studio that utilises non-fungible tokens (NFTs)  in its games. The company leverages blockchain technology to enable players, creators, artists, brands and game developers to become stakeholders and owners in gamified experiences.

The company is led by a team of gaming industry veterans who helped create some of the most popular gaming titles including Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, Marvel Strike Force, and Skylanders..

“We’re thrilled to work with the Miami Dolphins organization, one of the NFL’s most storied franchises,” said John Linden, CEO at Mythical Games. “This partnership allows us to explore new fan engagements with their audience, in one of the world’s technology and crypto hubs.”

On the other hand, Katharine Bohlmann, Miami Dolphins Vice President of Corporate Partnerships commented: “With the evolution of gaming, we understand the importance of embracing change and believe this is the perfect partnership that will allow us to capitalize on this new frontier and uniquely engage with our fans.”

In June 2023, Mythical Games raised $37 million in a round led by Scytale Digital, with participation from Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest, a16z, MoonPay, PROOF and Animoca Brands.

In April, it launched its gaming superchain on Polkadot to take on Immutable and Polygon’s Immutable zkEVM gaming platform.
