Music NFT platform Melos Studio will be releasing an exclusive David Bowie tribute NFT collection on Jan 27, in collaboration with NFT marketplace Starly.

Created by the David Bowie Estate and Denis O’regan, David Bowie’s personal photographer, the NFT collection contains previously unseen photos and videos of the legendary rock icon as well as unreleased audio tracks and monologues.

This exclusive collection offers Bowie fans the opportunity to preserve the memory of their rock idol as NFTs.

“We are excited to take part in a cultural action that will keep alive the icon of David Bowie, who marked the history of music with his unique music and style,” said Ilja Terebin, CEO of Starly. “We are sure that our collectors will be thrilled about this exclusive collection, so exclusive in fact that nobody in the public has ever seen the content inside these NFTs.”

The collection consists of a total of 12,000 NFTs divided into three rarity tiers: Legendary, Rare, and Common. The Legendary tier will offer only 120 NFTs while the Rare and Common tiers will offer 3000 and 8880 NFTs respectively.

Buyers can also purchase the Mystery pack for $99, which includes 1 Rare card, 2 Common cards and 1 randomly assigned card with a 4% chance of Legendary. 3000 Mystery packs will be available for purchase.

Those who purchase NFTs in this tribute collection can stand to receive some incentives.

Collectors who’ve purchased the Rare cards can receive an NFT airdrop by Melos, while those who have cards with serial number 1947 – David Bowie’s birth year – are eligible for an extra unique NFT airdrop also by Melos. It is unclear what exactly the NFT airdrops will be.

A $10,000 prize pool will also be shared amongst people who buy the NFTs during the sales period.

With this tribute collection, David Bowie will join Nirvana and the Beatles as some of the most legendary figures in the music world to have their memorabilia immortalised as NFTs.
