MMO Metaverse Game Wilder World Launches on the Epic Games Store

The game will soon invite players to explore Wiami, a virtual city where ancient wisdom meets futuristic innovation.

Wilder World, a AAA massively multiplayer online (MMO) metaverse game has launched on the Epic Games store. The game is now available for whitelisting allowing players to explore Wiami, “a virtual city where ancient wisdom meets futuristic innovation.” Some of the activities that players can engage in include exploring the metaverse city, competing in races, and socializing.

According to the game’s description, Wilder World is an MMO game that challenges players to defy an authoritarian regime, FORUM and they endeavour to defend Wiami. Dubbed the ‘GTA of Web3’, Wilder World has been under development since 2021. 

The game’s first experience, a competitive racing game set in the Wiami universe is currently in alpha testing and scheduled for wider release in 2024.

Built using Epic Games’ photorealistic graphics technology Unreal Engine and in-game AI, Wilder World exudes a fusion of stunning visuals and rich storytelling, offering “a next-gen gaming experience,” the company wrote in press material shared with NFTgators.

Wilder World also provides a marketplace where players can buy, sell and trade all items, equipment, land and avatars, enabling them to actively participate in the game’s economy.

Commenting on the announcement, Frank Wilder, Co-founder of Wilder World said in a statement: “We’re honoured to be listed on the Epic Games store, setting the pace for next-gen gaming in the metaverse. Our mission is to create a novel experience using cutting-edge technology, offering players a virtual space for gaming, socializing, and earning.”

This listing amplifies Wilder World’s reach to the gaming community given Epic Games store’s user base of more than 270 million and an engagement of over 75 million monthly active users.

Wilder World has also collaborated with Nvidia’s GeForce Now and SuperVerse as part of its strategy to expand its reach to both Web2 and Web3 gamer communities. Its Web3 gaming features are powered by Polygon and Celestia blockchains, enabling infinite scalability.
