Hashed Leads $4.7M Seed Round for Web3 Gaming Studio Delabs Games

The company said it will use the funds to accelerate the development of new games ahead of launching the inaugural Rumble Racing Stars game.

Delabs Games has announced a $4.7 million seed round led by Hashed. The web3 gaming studio said it will use the funds to accelerate the development of its “fun and free-to-play games that web2 gamers can play without any knowledge of NFTs, wallets, or crypto.”

The fundraising also attracted participation from Polygon, Planetarium, Spartan and Merit Circle. Delabs also announced the Rumble Racing Stars (RRS) summer camp event, which will allow players to participate in tournaments, bug scavenger hunts, and campfires among others from July 31 to August 7.

The company says it has developed an easy onboarding process that guides players into the web3 gaming experiences, enabling the non-crypto native community to easily enjoy blockchain games.

Besides the Delabs RRS game, the company has also been developing Space Frontier, and Metabolts over the past two years.

Delabs is building its blockchain games from scratch in order to keep the focus on delivering fun games.

Delabs boasts a strong leadership team with vast experience in the gaming industry. 

Beongryang Choi is the project director of Rumble Racing Stars. Before joining Delabs, he was the lead director of the Crazyracing KartRider game at Nexon. He was also a director of Disney’s ZIPI Racing and holds more than 20 years of experience in game development.

On the other hand, YongTao Cho is the lead director of Delabs’ Space Frontier game. He was the head director of RF Mobile at Korean gaming giant Netmarble and also worked at Nexon before joining Delabs.

Daeseok Son, who is the project director of Metabolts directed the development of King’s Raid 1 and King’s Raid 2 at Vespa.

Delabs CEO Joonmo Kwon, who believes web3 will transform the games industry is the former CEO of Nexon.
