Web gaming portal, Kongregate, and Ethereum Layer-2 scaling solution, Immutable X, have announced a $40 million fund consisting of an IMX token pool. The fund will be awarded as grants to blockchain game integrations on Kongregate.
Founded in 2006, Kongregate is a free-to-play web and mobile games platform. With the new fund, Kongregate will be relaunching as a blockchain gaming destination for both established and indie developers later this year.
With its Web3 rebrand, the platform will continue to support game advocacy, community development and indie developer by cultivating an inclusive space for developer innovation, lively community interaction and game discovery.
Developers will benefit from Kongregate’s end-to-end integration solution to build fun and engaging blockchain games. Kongregate will provide developers with tools including includes a blockchain SDK, game design and tokenomics consultations, and community growth services.

The $40 million fund is a continuation of Kongregate’s partnership with Immutable X. In February, Kongregate partnered with Immutable X to bring gasless and carbon-neutral NFTs to blockchain games.
