Quick take:

  • Fox has launched the “Masked Singer” live community experience on web3.
  • The interactive platform will allow fans to vote for contestants during live shows.
  • The new experience went live on MaskVerse.com on Wednesday ahead of the show’s Season 9 premiere on Fox.

Fox has launched “The Masked Singer Experience”, a live online community that will allow fans of the popular primetime show to participate in live voting, gain access to exclusive videos and earn rewards.

According to Fox, “during episodes throughout the season, fans will be able to scan on-air QR codes to play along and vote on which character they believe will progress on to the next round.”

This will allow the fans to gain points and level up their Loyalty Pass to be able to buy “The Masked Singer Stars, generative Season Nine costume art created by renowned artist Waxbones, to gain deeper access to the Experience.”

Fans earn points based on the number of accurate predictions they make during the show. These points will from February 22, give fans exclusive access to token-gated video “content featuring behind-the-scenes and confessionals from this season’s contestants.”

The Masked Singer Experience will also be launching an official online merchandise store, where fans can redeem their points for digital goods and other collectibles, whilst also entering a leaderboard table where they will be ranked against each other.

Fox is offering a total of 1,050 Masked Singer Stars for purchase at a price of $49.99, which is subject to change based on the price of the $MATIC token.

MoonPay will provide the required web3 infrastructure to allow fans to purchase tokens with credit cards before minting them with the company’s HyperMint platform.

On the other hand, Web3Auth will help integrate multi-party computation wallet services, enabling crypto-native fans to enter the experience using their wallets or social media accounts. Props Labs will facilitate the redemption of points through its Rewards platforms, while Eluvio’s novel content fabric will be used for video distribution.

This is not the first time a major film and TV production giant is leveraging web3 to improve fan engagement. Last October, Warner Bros launched a web3 movie experience for The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring film.

Eluvio, the Fox-backed web3 studio involved in bringing “The Masked Singer Experience” to life, was also part of Warner Bros’ team involved in launching the NFT film experience.
