Team Liquid, one of the biggest eSports companies has announced a strategic partnership with Mysten Labs, the developers of Sui blockchain. Team Liquid will collaborate with Mysten Labs to relaunch its loyalty program on Sui, bringing new experiences and rewards to its fans.

“Real fandom doesn’t happen in a single moment. It needs to be nurtured and sustained through experiences that strengthen the tether between team and fan. Team Liquid has always been a pioneer in esports fandom, and our partnership with Mysten Labs and incorporation of Sui is a testament to that spirit of innovation,” Claire Hungate, President and COO of Team Liquid said in a statement.

According to Hungate, the partnership enables his company to deepen its engagement with fans and teams through new experiences and exclusive rewards.

The multi-year partnership will see Mysten launch a fan loyalty program that allows fans to customise personalised Team Liquid avatars based on the eSports franchise’s mascot Blue. They will also be able to collect digital items that can be used to unlock other rewards and experiences for the fans.

Team Liquid and Mysten Labs will also plan to collaborate on marketing initiatives that will see the companies support games on the Sui platform by doing content, events and sponsored streams, among others.

Founded in 2000, Team Liquid has grown to become one of the most popular franchises in eSports with its teams participating in leading eSports titles, including the League of Legends, VALORANT and Counter-Strike (CS2).

This partnership further expands Mysten Labs to the eSports community after Korean entertainment giant NHN Corp chose the Sui blockchain for its Web3 gaming project.

Mysten Labs was launched in September 2023 by former Meta Platforms executives with a $300 million fundraising. Korean video game publisher NCSoft, which participated in the fundraising invested $15 million in the company as part of its foray into Web3 gaming.
