In the last two weeks, as many as 26 Web3-related job ads have been posted on LinkedIn, coming from various companies in the media, art, retail, gaming and NFT spheres. Most of the job roles are focused on community, project and product management.
NFT marketplaces OpenSea, Crypto.com, and Rarible have all posted job ads looking to fill the roles of Discord Community Manager, NFT- Ambassador Program Coordinator and Community Lead respectively. Rarible is also hiring a Polygon Community Manager and a Solana Community Manager ahead of its upcoming integration of both blockchains.
All of the above-mentioned roles have one thing in common: To drive community engagement and onboard new users on social platforms such as Discord and Twitter.
For its upcoming NFT marketplace, Coinbase is seeking a Product Manager, NFT to “own product development from conception to launch, building new features for Coinbase NFT”
From the fine arts sphere, auction houses Sotheby’s and Christie’s are also hiring for NFT roles, while fine art marketplace Artsy is looking for a Head of NFT to expand its NFT positioning.
Two roles are currently open at Sotheby’s, namely Post-Sale Manager, NFT and Specialist, NFT. The former is responsible for supporting clients through the post-sale process of NFT sales as well as transactions paid in cryptocurrencies, while the latter will help drive the sales strategy of Sotheby’s Metaverse, the auction house’s proprietary NFT platform.
As for Christie’s, a job ad for the role of Account Manager, NFT Sales – Client Accounting (TEMP) was posted on Sunday. The candidate will be responsible for the accounting journey of client account NFT transactions.
Media-focused companies are also hiring. Instagram stories template app Unfold, media startup Fourfront, and ad agencies Fusion92 and VaynerX are looking for an NFT Community Manager, Creative Community Manager (NFT / Entertainment), Account Manager/Sales Support – NFT Division, and NFT Resident respectively.
Despite its unique job title, the NFT Resident role at the Vaynerchuk brothers’ media and advertising company, VaynerX, is actually a community management role. The job requires applicants to have their “fingers on the pulse of the NFT community – particularly on Discord and Twitter; understanding and analyzing trends.”
Crypto media platform Cointelegraph is seeking an NFT Project Manager to assist with NFT drops on various marketplaces.
While Reddit has yet to officially announce plans for an NFT marketplace, it has been quietly building a team for the NFT platform. In October, it published a job listing for Senior Backend Engineer, NFT Platform. Another listing for Group Product Manager, NFT Marketplace was posted five days ago.
Blockchain and P2E gaming studio Illuvium is looking for a social media manager while game publisher Zynga is looking for a NFT Community Lead to join its Web3/Blockchain team. The latter has recently announced that it’s building a Web3 team.
Ethereum platform Consensys is hiring a Support Product Lead (a customer success role) and Community Builder for its NFT Business unit. Digital asset software platform Blockchain.com currently has 68 applicants for its NFT Partnerships Lead role.
With Nike and StockX still embroiled in a legal dispute, the sportswear giant is looking for a Digital Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator while StockX is doubling down on its NFT expansion with its search for a Senior Manager for NFT Partnerships.
After announcing its metaverse plans two weeks ago, PLBY Group Inc is currently seeking an experienced Web3 Community Manager.
Last but not least, the Major League Baseball Players Association is searching for a Digital Licensing Executive for NFT, Metaverse, video gaming, online gaming, mobile gaming, and AR/VR.
