Near Foundation has partnered with Alibaba Cloud to accelerate web3 growth in Asia and the Middle East. Near Protocol, the layer 1 blockchain ecosystem by Near Foundation will leverage Alibaba Cloud’s “plug-and-play” infrastructure as a service for its validator network.
Near Foundation will gain access to Alibaba Cloud’s developer ecosystem enabling it to reach a wider network. Developers in Asia and the Middle East will be able to build on the Near Protocol ecosystem.
The partnership will allow the two companies to provide remote procedure call (RPC) services to developers and users, enabling them to access on-chain data and share it across multiple networks.
Near has developed the NEAR Blockchain Operating System (BOS), which allows developers to build on the Near Protocol ecosystem while using the Alibaba Cloud infrastructure. The integration with Alibaba Cloud will allow Near Protocol to provide remote procedure calls (RPC) services enabling seamless transactions in its ecosystem.
The partnership also comes hot on the heels of Alibaba Cloud’s recent partnership with Avalanche Blockchain, to build a metaverse launchpad for its users.
The Chinese tech giant hired web3 investor Joseph Tsai as part of its new strategy for the web3 industry.
Commenting via a press release on his company’s latest partnership, Raymond Xiao, head of international Web3 solutions at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence said: “The NEAR Foundation and Alibaba Cloud partnership is an important one as we continue to support Web3 developers to explore opportunities. It is also significant for developers and validators in the Asian markets, as they can leverage Alibaba Cloud’s comprehensive infrastructure in Asia.”
The Near Protocol token responded positively to the news spiking more than 15% following the announcement on Monday.
