Yuga Labs announced on Wednesday that its Meebits NFT collection is releasing a full album, titled ‘Meebits Turn On’. The album includes 13 never-been-heard tracks out now on major streaming platforms and claimable as digital collectible.
The 22-track album was created in collaboration with audiovisual music platform, WarpSound, a subsidiary of AI-powered music platform Authentic Artists. The collaboration was announced on Nov 3 and a digital boombox featuring nine original AI-powered songs created by WarpSound was released after.
This partnership came shortly after Danny Greene, the former general manager of MeebitsDAO, joined Yuga Labs as Meebits’ brand lead in August. He also serves as the project’s community liaison and develops strategic partnerships.
WarpSound enlisted four virtual artists – Nayomi, DJ Dragoon, Gnar Heart, and GLiTCH – to bring a mix of styles and genres such as trap, hip-hop, lo-fi, electrofunk, electropop, and chillwave to the ‘Meebits Turn On’ album.
From now until Dec 31, both Meebits and WarpSound’s WVRPS holders can claim a WarpSound MUSIC DROPS digital collectible for free and only have to pay gas fees. Once minted, the ERC-1155 NFT will render as a “playable album” on platforms that support HTML-based NFTs, such as OpenSea.
The NFT album is only claimable by wallets that held one or more Meebits when the snapshot was taken on Dec 20, at 9:16 AM PST.
The album is out on major music streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. In addition, anyone can download the complete album with MP3 and WAV files for free.
All tracks are free for creative use, redistribution or remix commercially, with a Creative Commons Attribution license. Those who remix the tracks for commercial use would only have to give appropriate credit to Meebits and WarpSound.
Unphased by the bear market, Yuga Labs has been actively pushing on with its different projects. Today, Bored Ape Yacht Club released an animated short film, ‘The Trial of Jimmy the Monkey,’ which kicks off a new chapter in the lore of the NFT project.

One of Yuga Labs’ other NFT collections, Bored Ape Kennel Club, saw a two-day transaction volume of 1,700 ETH.
This week, the company announced that it has appointed Activision Blizzard President and COO Daniel Alegre as its new CEO. He will work closely with Yuga Labs founders Wylie Aronow and Greg Solano to lead the company’s next phase of growth.
