Mazda has launched its inaugural NFT collection as part of Astar Network’s “Yoki Origins” campaign. The Japanese automaker has teamed up with the layer-1 blockchain company to drop 10 NFTs inspired by Mazda’s iconic MX-5 MIATA embodied with subcultural essence plus two extra “Secret NFTs”.

Mazda joins a growing list of Japanese companies in the Yoki Origins campaign including Candy Girl, Casio, Japan Airlines, and Kyushu Railway Company.

Mazda joins barely a month following the launch of the “Yoki Origins”, a gamified campaign created to accelerate the onboarding of users on Astar zkEVM.

“Astar Network is delighted to announce that Mazda Motor Corporation is participating in “Yoki Origins,” the launch campaign for Astar zkEVM- the Ethereum Layer 2 powered by Polygon CDK and the first chain to integrate Polygon AggLayer,” Astar wrote in a statement shared with NFTgators.

According to the announcement, Mazda’s debut NFTs herald “a new era of communication and storytelling for Mazda in the digital realm.” The company is not just looking for a one-off product, as it sees the opportunity to potentially start a captivating series.

Some of the NFTs featured in the collection include four NFTs inspired by Mazda and Japanese Season, NA/ND Mazda MX-5 MIATA special NFTs, one Mazda and Astar NFT, and one NFT featuring a blend of Mazda and the city of Hiroshima.

The YoPort (Astar’s iteration of the popular Japanese Gacha Machines) for the Mazda NFT collection launched on April 5. Every project participating in the “Yoki Origins” campaign has its own YoPort.
