Joyride Games has announced the launch of its Web3 game publisher platform on Flow. The company launched its inaugural Web3 game, “Solitaire Blitz” on the platform in June and has since amassed over 500,000 active users, becoming the fastest-growing blockchain game.

Flow parent, Dapper Labs previously backed Joyride in a $14 million funding round in March, to accelerate the development of its game publishing platform and Solitaire Blitz.

The web3 gaming studio’s creator platform is based on Unity gaming technology that has been used by more than 300 million gamers and developers around the world over the last decade, featuring top-grossing titles on mobile.

Joyride’s community-driven ecosystem leverages player-owned assets and economies to provide a comprehensive solution to the needs of independent Unity developers as they design, launch, and scale blockchain games.

Commenting on his company’s partnership with Flow, Omar Siddiqui, CEO and Founder of Joyride said: “We evaluated blockchain protocols against our needs as a games platform for consumers and found that Flow provides us an excellent solution to onboard users easily and to grow with our ecosystem and player community.”

Siddiqui thinks that launching “Solitaire Blitz” on Flow will help Joyride onboard the next billion users to blockchain gaming.

Dapper Labs recently launched a $725 million ecosystem fund to invest in Web3 projects including blockchain games, infrastructure and decentralised finance. The company is looking to expand its ecosystem offering beyond NFTs after gaming popularity for its NBA Top Shot NFT marketplace.

Mickey Maher, SVP of Partnerships at Dapper Labs lauded Joyride’s comprehensive platform as the ideal avenue for creative game developers on Unity looking to build Web3 games.

“We share a similar vision to bring the benefits of blockchain to everyone, so we are excited to see them focus on powering the next generation of games and doing so at scale, such as with Solitaire Blitz,” Maher added.

Solitaire Blitz is based on the popular Klondike Solitaire card game. It bears a polished look, and some exciting game modes and twists for all types of players to explore.

NFT card games are among the most popular types of blockchain games, as illustrated by Splinterlands, which is currently the third most traded blockchain game according to DappRadar.

Solitaire Blitz is already replicating this success given its raid growth since launching on Flow. It is now the most popular Dapp on the platform and ranks fourth overall in the top blockchain games list compiled by DappRadar.

“We are excited about the early performance of the game, both from an engagement and a technical perspective,” added Omar Siddiqui. “We look forward to growing the title further with our public launch and bringing Web3 gaming to a mass, casual audience that loves playing, relaxing, and competing in classic Solitaire.”
