Forever Has Fallen has launched its interactive metaverse platform that allows players to earn rewards by completing challenges as bounty hunters. Launching to the public on March 19, 2023, the story-driven metaverse experience also features a monetisation model powered by non-fungible tokens (NFTs) called Bounty Hunter Tickets (BHTs).

According to the announcement, the ticketing model is developed by Unique Network, a Polkadot parachain specializing in composable NFTs. The system allows fans to earn 3 tickets which they can sell on a marketplace for $30 to new fans.

Players begin by gathering clues that lead them to fictional websites, easter egg discovery, and character interaction on social media.

Commenting on the launch, Kimon Lycos, Head of Creative at Forever Has Fallen said it took eight years of research and development to arrive at this stage.

“Our journey, from initial concept validation with 2,000 pilot fans to the creation of our pioneering ticketing system by Unique Network, has been incredibly rewarding. Now, fans can immerse themselves in our story-driven metaverse as Bounty Hunters, sharing their passion and expanding the game through our novel ticketing model.”

The blockchain gaming experience sees players take the role of bounty hunters amidst turmoil following the collapse of The Forever Social, a corporation promising digital immortality. Players participate in a contest to become the first person to unravel the mystery surrounding Swedish billionaire Karl-Axel Mattiasson, who is accused of a high-profile murder that led to the collapse of Forever Social.

“This new entertainment franchise is built with and for fans, providing an unforgettable adventure to which they can earn rewards for sharing and contributing. It’s comparable to watching a great movie, leaving the theatre on a high, and someone handing you three tickets you can sell to others waiting in line for the next showing,” Lycos added.

Forever Has Fallen said it plans to add more features, which will foster community involvement through voting, events, and a marketplace for Bounty Hunters to create, sell, and share content.
