Quick take:

  • This partnership will allow D3 to expand its top-level domains (TLDs) to over 80 million users across the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
  • Viction boasts a network of over 3.7 million wallets powered by its people-oriented layer-1 blockchain.
  • D3’s interoperable digital ID system will enable both companies to expand their reach beyond their communities.

D3 Global has announced a partnership with Shiba Inu and layer-1 blockchain provider Viction to bring its top-level Web3 domains to their ecosystems. The interoperable digital identity and Web3 domain provider will apply for .shib and .vic domain support during ICANN’s upcoming application window.

The D3 system allows users to register and trade DNS domains with native Web2 and Web3 functionality. The platform’s patent-pending technology gives users hassle-free experiences across browsers, email services, and wallets.

According to the announcement, this partnership will allow D3 to expand its Web3 domain offering to Shiba Inu’s ecosystem of over 80 million users and Viction’s network of over 3.7 million wallets.

The company’s interoperable identity system will allow both companies to expand their reach beyond their communities, which accelerates D3’s campaign to integrate DNS and blockchain technologies.

D3 wants to address some of the Web3 domain industry’s pressing issues, including incompatibility with traditional Internet infrastructure like websites, email, desktops, and mobile devices. Its patent-pending technology will allow web3 companies to enhance utility, security, and universal access by integrating Web3 ecosystems with traditional Internet, in what the company calls, “Real Web3 Domains”.

Commenting on the announcement, Fred Hsu, Chief Executive Officer at D3 said his company’s vision is “to make Web3 more accessible, transparent, scalable and secure by building futureproof, interoperable digital identities with DNS at the foundation.”

Shytoshi Kusama, Lead Developer of Shiba Inu commented: “Our partnership with D3 allows us to scale outside of the existing #ShibArmy and give over 5 billion Internet users direct access to the SHIB ecosystem.”

According to Kusama, bringing “real domains” to SHIB will play a crucial role in his company’s “vision for digital identities within our decentralized ecosystem.” This will also drive long-term revenue generation within the SHIB ecosystem, he added.

Thanh Le of the Viction Foundation Council added: “Identity has been at the forefront of online interactions for many years and Web3 shouldn’t be any different. The partnership between Viction and D3 will give our community access to real domains and unlock new capabilities on the path towards interoperable digital identities.”
