MContent Appoints Digital Media Veteran Brandon Fong as Chief of Global Streaming Business

Decentralised content ecosystem, MContent, today announced the appointment of Brandon Fong as its new chief of global streaming business. The new hire is part of MContent’s move to strengthen its streaming business ambitions as it moves towards a rebranding and relaunch of its content platform.

Fong is a digital media veteran with over two decades of experience.He was most recently Senior Vice President at Curiosity Stream and has held senior leadership positions at STX Entertainment, Game Show Network, Starz Entertainment and AOL. 

He has also worked at Time Inc., where he led video content distribution and acquisition across all Time Inc. brands, and executed content syndication and licensing deals with Amazon, Hulu, Comcast, MSN, Yahoo, Aol, Vevo, Defy, Gannett, Hearst and CBS Local.

Over the course of his career, Fong has has executed content partnerships with FuboTV, Yahoo, Chicken Soup for the Soul, Snap and LG while driving strategic relationships with Facebook, Amazon and Jukin Media.

MContent previously made headlines for partnering with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Middle East to screen its documentary titled Ripple vs SEC in the metaverse. An MContent original production, the documentary takes a dive into the ongoing lawsuit filed by the US Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) against blockchain company Ripple Labs.

On Jan 29, MContent announced a raise of $5 million in a seed round, led by UAE business conglomerate Gargash Group, at a valuation of $10 million. MContent has already funded 11 production projects across South America, Africa and South East Asia, including a documentary film on El Salvador’s Bitcoin Revolution, which was released on Insight TV in February.
