The Recording Academy is rolling out its first-ever Grammy NFT collection to celebrate and countdown to the annual awards ceremony on Apr 4.

The NFT collection is launched in partnership with green NFT marketplace, OneOf, and will be dropping on Mar 8. The Grammy’s NFT campaign will kick off with a free collectible available to all fans. One single “golden ticket” for an all-inclusive paid trip for two to the annual Grammy’s on Apr 3 in Las Vegas is up for grabs.

Over the next three weeks leading up to the awards ceremony, new collections will drop, featuring new artworks by Emonee LaRussa, Andre Oshea and ThankYouX respectively. These three artists highlight OneOf’s mission to support women and people of colour in the Web3 space.

Each artist will have a week devoted to their NFT collections. First up on Mar 15, Emonee LaRussa is a two-time Emmy-winning director and animator that has worked with Kanye West, Lil Nas X and Megan Thee Stallion.

Next on the schedule for Mar 22, Andre Oshea is a 3D animator that has worked with Adult Swim, Snapchat, Tidal, and John Legend. Last but not least, ThankYouX will be overlaying his signature abstract paintings on the iconic Grammy Award to create a collection of 64 unique NFTs dropping on Mar 29.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Recording Academy’s scholarship fund.

The exclusive partnership between the Recording Academy and OneOf was revealed in Nov 2021 and was signed for three consecutive years. Grammys NFTs will be released for 64th, 65th and 66th Annual Grammy Awards.

The collection will be featured in a commercial spot that will air during the Grammy Awards telecast on Apr 3.

“OneOf is looking forward to celebrating the biggest night in music with the Recording Academy, bringing this new technology to artists and fans in an accessible and environmentally friendly way,” says Adam Fell, OneOf co-founder and president of Quincy Jones Productions. “The art that ThankYouX, Emonee LaRussa and Andre Oshea have created is one of a kind and we are honored to be able to play a part in the opportunity for a fan to win a ticket to see the Awards in Vegas on April 3.”

Built on the Tezos blockchain, OneOf is built to create an environmentally-sustainable, artist-and-fan-friendly experience. An NFT minted on the platform uses two million times less energy than other networks.

Artists using the platform have the option to donate parts of their proceeds from NFT sales to charitable causes. Fans can pay for their NFT purchases with credit cards and cryptocurrencies.

In December, an NFT of a previously unreleased recording of 17-year-old Whitney Houston singing was sold for $1 million on OneOf, the highest-priced NFT auctioned on the Tezos (XTZ) blockchain.

In other music NFT-related news, OneOf has recently partnered with Warner Music Group to create artist and music NFTs.
