Travala has announced the launch of a Bitcoin rewards program for its top-tier travellers. The Singapore-based travel agency will give 10% cash back on travel booking payments to members who have attained the Smart Diamond tier-level on the AVA Foundation rewards program.
According to Travala.com CEO Juan Otero, his company wants to leverage Bitcoin’s scarcity to reward its top-tier travellers. Members will decide how they use the Bitcoin rewards. According to the announcement, they can either use the BTC to purchase more travel products or withdraw to an external wallet.
“Bitcoin is here to stay, and it’s now becoming more appealing to mainstream audiences, thanks to the recent approval of the first spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund,” Cointelegraph reported.
According to Otero, integrating Bitcoin into its rewards program expands the use cases of cryptocurrency for daily payments, with rewards credited to member accounts within 24 hours.
This announcement comes at a time when Bitcoin’s popularity is sky-high, having recently set a new all-time high.
The world’s biggest cryptocurrency has also emerged as a major player in the dApp ecosystem, since the emergence of Bitcoin ordinals in 2023. The integration of the Internet Computer has made Bitcoin an attractive network for decentralised app developers, and it is no surprise that crypto-friendly mainstream companies like Travala have pounced on the opportunity.
According to Travala, to become a member of the new BTC cashback program, users need to own a Travel Tiger NFT and stake 2,500 AVA tokens, which will activate the Smart Diamond membership.
