Indie Web3 gaming studio, Planet Mojo has announced a new strategic funding round led by Animoca Brands, Merit Circle and Courtside VC. The new capital brings the total raised to date to $10.5 million, the company said.
The company previously raised $5 million in a seed round led by Animoca Brands in December 2021.
The latest fundraising also attracted participation from Spartan Group, Citizen Capital, Sfermion, Big Brain Holdings, EVG, Republic, NGC Ventures, Readyplayer DAO, Alchemy, Momentum 6, Skyvision Capital, RW3 Ventures, Collab + Currency, Polkastarter, Metavest Capital, Symbolic Capital, Everyrealm, Fourth Revolution Capital, and more.
Commenting on the announcement via a post on X, Planet Mojo wrote: “This milestone marks a significant step forward in the development of the Mojo Ecosystem and our growth trajectory. Our journey has been made possible with the support of our lead backers.”

Mojo Melee, Planet Mojo’s first game on its metaverse platform launched in 2023. The game is described as a next-gen AutoChess Battler game, Mojo Melee allows players to engage in battles and “earn real rewards as they play”.
Mojo Melee has made significant milestones since its launch last year. In August 2023 it announced a a strategic partnership with Amazon Prime, allowing Prime members to win exclusive Mojo Melee NFTs.
The game is built on Polygon’s highly scalable and lightning-fast blockchain, also enabling its players to interact with a burgeoning community of Web3 gamers within the Polygon ecosystem.
