Oasys, the gaming-focused chain is expanding its ecosystem with interoperable gaming support topping its list of features for the 2024 Dragon Update. The company has teamed up with LayerZero, a leading omni-chain interoperability protocol, offering unified semantics across more than 60 blockchains to enhance interoperable gaming on the Oasys ecosystem.
According to the announcement, the integration will first be implemented on Oasys’ Layer 2 HOME Verse before later expanding to the L1 Hub-Layer and other Verses. The company plans to use Ubisoft’s Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles to showcase the integration when it debuts on the network.
LayerZero offers an Omnichain Non-Fungible Token (ONFT) standard, which allows users to mint and transfer NFTs across all the 60+ supported chains. Oasys gaming ecosystem will be able to leverage this technology to carry gaming assets between networks.

According to Nicolas Pouard, VP of Strat Lab, the integration of LayerZero’s ONFT technology in Ubisoft’s upcoming game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles marks a significant step in the quest for interoperable blockchain gaming experiences.
“In alliance with Oasys and LayerZero, we’re moving from splintered chains standards to an omni-chain standard, fostering better communication and interaction across chains and assets,” Pouard said.
Oasys and LayerZero believe that interoperable cross-chain blockchain gaming not only removes a significant barrier to Web3 gaming but also fosters a richer and more inclusive gaming experience for all.
