Vyking, a leading augmented reality technology company is bringing digital fashion to life. The company has launched Flex, an app that will enable creators, artists, and brands to build and release digital fashion collections that can be displayed in AR.

The flex app launched at the Block/Space presented by Tezos blockchain as part of the SXSW 2022. The fairgoers will be able to experience the flex app at the ‘flex sneaker shop’.

By combining augmented reality technology with digital fashion ownership, flex enables creators and collectors to mint digital fashion collections as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

The app leverages Vyking’s proprietary AR try-on technology, enabling creators to display their items in Instagram-worthy pictures, thereby increasing exposure through social media.

“The world around us is changing rapidly as the pace of culture continues to move in lock-step with that of technology. We at Vyking saw a unique opportunity to leverage our proven AR technology that powers AR experiences for leading brands into a user and creator-centric application that combines real ownership and AR with the expanding world of digital fashion. flex is a game-changer for digital fashion and we are thrilled to play a part in bringing this creative revolution to life.” – Thibault Marion de Procé, Vyking’s co-founder and Chief Product Officer.

Vyking’s industry-leading AR try-on technology has already been adopted by some of the leading brands in the fashion industry, including Adidas, Louis Vuitton, and Crocs.

The company is reinventing fashion retail by “creating a collaborative space at the intersection of creativity, 3-D design, blockchain and AR for creators and global brands alike.”

Chief Product Officer, de Procé thinks that the company’s devotion to bringing the best out of AR 3D technology is the best way to enhance places and people around us, as it extends our experiences by adding layers of art.

“In the same way that the clothes you wear in real life tell the story of who you are and how you feel, so will digital fashion be flexed across the metaverse,” he said.

Vyking’s latest product, flex has announced it will launch its debut functionality sneaker collection in collaboration with some of the leading digital fashion and 3D design brands in the industry.

They include French AR artist Johwska, footwear designer Finn Rush-Taylor and a collection from Monument. The collection will be issued through leading digital art and collectibles NFT marketplace Rarible.

“Once collected, users will be able to access their NFTs in the flex app and ‘flex’ their sneaker NFTs with the AR technology that automatically overlays the digital sneakers,” the company wrote in a press release.

On flex, creators’ ownership is secured with Tezos blockchain, ensuring they continue to receive royalties for the work on primary and secondary sales. Collectors can try on every virtual sneaker on the flex app before purchase.
