American rock band Blink-182 drummer, Travis Barker, will be dropping his first-ever NFT collection on Limewire. The former peer-to-peer file-sharing platform has officially relaunched as an NFT marketplace with a lineup of big names in music.

Travis Barker, along with other singers and music producers such as Brandy, Nicky Jam, Aitch, Dillon Francis, FitLit Club featuring Jim Jones, Maino, Dave East, and Fabolous, Gramatik, 7 Aurelius and Elijah Blake will be launching exclusive NFT collections on  LimeWire in the coming weeks.

Other artists to drop NFTs on LimeWire include A$AP Mob’s A$AP TyY, CJ Fly, Oritsé, Mollow, Luciana, Blacka Di D.

This follows the recent news that LimeWire raised $10.4 million via a private token sale co-led by Kraken Ventures, Arrington Capital and GSR in April, and its deal with Universal Music Group for global content licensing in May.

Travis Barker’s first NFT collection will include behind-the-scenes footage of himself working in the studio and buyers of Barker’s NFT can unlock an exclusive track. In addition to that, Barker will also be releasing a 1/1 NFT of a 3D model of his drum set and the physical drum set he used at concerts, during rehearsals, and at home.

“I have always been interested in Web3 and NFTs so I am pretty stoked to release my first NFT collection and to do it on LimeWire,” said Travis Barker. “I hope that my NFT collection will inspire aspiring artists and fans who want to learn about my creative journey and how I make music. LimeWire has created a platform that makes exciting content like this accessible to all of my fans – even ones who are unfamiliar with Web3.”

American R&B singer Brandy will be partnering with Probably Nothing to launch her to spoken word and Photosynthesis Flower NFT on Limewire.

“We see a huge demand in the entertainment space for platforms that recognise and appreciate artists for their talent and put them in the driver’s seat,” said LimeWire co-CEO Paul and Julian Zehetmayr. “LimeWire presents a new commercial opportunity for artists of all sizes and genres to engage with their fans, gain more exposure in a unique way and retain more of their earnings.”

Following LimeWire’s pivot to Web3, former file-sharing platform Napster has also announced its plans to launch a new platform token and NFTs after being acquired by Algorand and Hivemind.
