The Sandbox Partners with Cube Entertainment to Bring K-Culture to the Metaverse

Animoca Brands’ The Sandbox, a metaverse gaming and digital land platform is expanding its content offering. The company has teamed up with Korean-based entertainment company Cube Entertainment to bring K-culture to the metaverse.

The two companies will collaborate on projects that will help develop digital Korean culture-themed products in virtual spaces to be offered to a global audience. The partnership is part of Cube Entertainment’s strategy to expand into the metaverse and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

The company partnered with The Sandbox’s parent Animoca Brands to form ‘AniCube’, a new joint venture dedicated to exploring opportunities in digital assets and the 3D virtual world.

The latest event was graced by senior executives from both companies with “Sebastien Borget (Co-founder of The Sandbox), Yohan Lee (Director of The Sandbox Korea), Cindy Lee (Director of The Sandbox Korea), Kang Seungkon (CEO of Cube Ent.), Ahn Woohyung (CEO of Cube Ent.), all in attendance.

The Sandbox and Cube Entertainment will be bringing a host of companies to the virtual space that will hold events about K-POP and K-Culture among others.

Commenting on the partnership said Sebastien Borget, COO & Co-Founder, The Sandbox said “Cube is truly embracing the spirit of the open Metaverse by moving one step further into The Sandbox via its K-culture hub, where it is actively curating local brands and partners of their main K-POP label and offering them presence into The Sandbox through its own lands.”

On the other hand, Ahn Woohyung, CEO of Cube Entertainment said the company was excited by the collaboration as it aims to introduce K-Culture to a global audience in the metaverse

“We are about to play the leading role to spread Korean culture around the world in the metaverse, the key of the fourth industrial revolution through this partnership with The Sandbox, “and “Thanks to the global K-POP wave, Korean culture known as ‘K-Culture’ itself will have a powerful influence in every sector,” said Woohyung.

Cube Entertainment has collaborated with several local companies to create K-Culture content. Artists affiliated with the entertainment company will promote the initiative.
