Tatsumeeko has announced the successful completion of a $7.5 million seed round co-led by DeFiance Capital, Delphi Ventures and BITKRAFT Ventures. The MMORPG-Lite cross-platform blockchain game is available on both Ethereum and Solana blockchains. Tatsu.GG the organisation behind the game plans to use the funding to bring metaverse gaming to Discord.
Other venture capital firms participating in the fundraising included Binance Labs, Animoca Brands, Dialectic and GuilldFi. The team plans to accelerate the development of Tasumeeko with the new funding. The company has now raised $8.1 million in two rounds.
Tatsu.GG is a cross-gaming platform created for the gamification of Discord communities. It currently claims to have amassed 60 million users and 1.4 million Discord communities since its launch in 2016.
The massively multiplayer role-playing game will be offered via Discord, iOS, Android and the web. Revolving around a mythical world called Ielia, the game allows players to fight against monsters as they build communities and interact with other gamers.
Tasumeeko also supports crypto and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) integration in a seamless way, the team said.
The alpha version of the game reached 60,000 monthly users and traded over 4.5 million items, creating a strong foundation to launch the full version across multiple platforms.
The extended version features in addition to the main quest, “story quests, co-op raids, dimensional invasions and player versus environments combat with in-game token rewards.” It will also allow direct integration of NFTs to the discord channel including the Meekolony Pass, a series of 10,000 genesis NFTs which launched on Solana in November 2021.
The game has plans to expand its availability to other social media channels like QQ, WeChat and Telegram, as well as, to both Solana and Ethereum communities.
Commenting on the game, Co-founder David Lim said: “What we’re doing with Tatsumeeko is we’re taking this concept and applying it to Discord where many communities already exist and helping those communities to supercharge their growth in areas of community engagement, retention and user acquisition.”
