Talus Network, the AI training infrastructure powering smart contracts and decentralised applications has raised $6 million in a strategic round led by Polychain Capital.
The fundraising also attracted participation from Foresight Ventures, Animoca Brands, Geek Cartel and Echo, with notable angel investors from Polygon, Sentient and Allora, among others.
The fundraising brings the total raised to date to $9 million following a seed round announced in February and values Talus Network at $150 million, the company said in the announcement on Tuesday.
According to the announcement, Talus plans to use the new capital to further develop its ecosystem including the blockchain infrastructure Protochain and the Nexus framework, which is used by developers to build self-governing and self-executing AI agents.
Talus also plans to use part of the capital to build an AI-powered “dating experience” app on the blockchain.
Talus offers an infrastructure for training AI agents, which can be used in portfolio optimization and MEV protection in DeFi, grant allocation for DAOs, treasury management, as well as, NPC (non-player character) management and automated testing in gaming, among others.
Talus Network enables AI agents to be converted into on-chain assets, allowing developers, trainers and users to participate in the economic model of the agents at the intersection of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology.
Commenting on his company’s leading role in the fundraising, Polychain Capital founder Olaf Carlson-Wee said in a statement: “AI agents are beginning to participate directly in markets as active economic entities. With Talus, these agents gain a decentralized foundation to own assets, trade and interact autonomously. Talus is leading in building a new economy where AI-driven agents are integral to the digital landscape.”
