Liverpool FC today announced that it has extended its partnership with fantasy football game platform, Sorare, as the football club dives deeper into Web3.

In this partnership, Sorare will be the official global partner of Liverpool FC. The football club will collaborate with Sorare on multimedia fan content and release new unique experiences for Reds fans and Sorare’s managers.

Sorare and Liverpool FC first partnered in 2021 to launch digital trading cards on the platform. With the extended partnership, all LFC stars will continue to be available as digital cards in Sorare’s fantasy game for fans, collectors and players to collect, trade and compete with.

Ben Latty, commercial director at Liverpool FC, said: “At Liverpool Football Club, we’re always striving to pioneer new technologies for our supporters, with the aim of enhancing their fan experience and making them feel as connected as possible to this club. We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with Sorare and go further in bringing exciting new initiatives to our fans.”

The partnership will also enable Liverpool FC to engage new fans across the globe through Sorare, which has over 2 million users from 185 countries.

“Liverpool FC is one of the world’s most iconic and prestigious clubs; a footballing juggernaut with unparalleled history and one of the largest and most passionate fanbases in the sport. We’re beyond excited to expand our partnership with such an historic club that is just as committed to innovating to bring authentic experiences to their fans as we are,” Michael Meltzer, head of business development at Sorare added. “Thanks to this exclusive deal, fans from across the globe will be able to use Sorare to get even closer to the Reds they love – from Virgil van Dijk to Trent to Thiago.”

This is the latest in a series of major partnerships for Sorare, which now has more than 280 partnering sports organisations – including La Liga, the Bundesliga, AC Milan and Major League Baseball.

Sorare also recently entered a multi-year partnership with the Argentinian Football Association. In June, French football star Kylian Mbappé became an investor, social impact partner, and ambassador in Sorare.
