Rapper and NFT collector Snoop Dogg has partnered with the P2E mafia metaverse game, MOBLAND, to farm digital weed in the metaverse. The mafia-themed blockchain game is backed by Twitch Co-Founder Justin Kan, Terra’s Do Kwon, Animoca Brands and more.

Snoop will own and operate the digital weed farm in MOBLAND. In addition, a limited collection of Snoop Dogg branded digital weed farm NFTs and exclusive content from Snoop’s son, Champ Medici, will be available for players of the game.

“My son showed me the importance of collaboration with MOBLAND to introduce the first-ever digital weed farms as NFTs. There is a paradigm shift happening here and I want to be at the forefront of this,” said Snoop Dogg.

“I saw my father play video games my whole life. Cannabis and game controllers live hand in hand with him, that’s why I think it’s no brainer to bring the metaverse and digital weed together, “ added Champ Medici, who is also active in the NFT community.

MOBLAND will pioneer the first-ever “grow-and-earn” feature through various utilities for in-game business buildings and land. Users will be able to stake in-game assets and grow Weed, which can be sold on the open market or exchanged for in-game NFTs.

Snoop’s branded weed farm will operate cross-chain, giving access to more users, wider applications, and deeper liquidity. SEED will be the first multi-chain in-game currency for the MOBLAND Ecosystem. Farmers can stake the governance token SYNR on the Ethereum network to farm SEED, which can be planted in Snoop’s weed farm to germinate into the Weed token.

The Weed token can be used for various in-game features such as upgrading cosmetics, rejuvenating health, enhancing gameplay, paying Mafia tax, and powering up. SEED and Weed can also be used to acquire in-game assets like Turf (land) and Business licenses.

“NFT 1.0 is about individual character and item, NFT 2.0 is about land and real estate, NFT 3.0 is about business and utility on top of the land and real estate,” said Roy Liu, co-founder of MOBLAND. “We are super pumped to pioneer with the legendary Snoop Dogg by bringing digital cannabis and mass adoption to the metaverse and GameFi 2.0. We are looking for more ways to give back to the cannabis community.”

Developed by a team of industry experts from Disney, Ubisoft, Roblox, Electronic Arts, Gameloft, Google, Yahoo and Twitter, MOBLAND is a free-to-play P2E game in which players can grind in daily events, player-versus-environment, player-versus-player and syndicate events such as cross-chain tournaments.

MOBLAND will be introducing in-game business buildings which will transform the game’s existing design and is set to launch later in the quarter.
