Samsung is accelerating its metaverse after unveiling the “Space Tycoon” experiential virtual playground on Roblox. The company is launching a virtual hub on the metaverse platform to allow users to experience and interact with its products in 3D virtual spaces.
This is not the Korean technology giant’s first foray into the metaverse. The company’s latest range of products was unveiled via n event organised in the metaverse. The company also held the “Superstar Galaxy” virtual concert on Roblox on June 17.
The Samsung Space Tycoon metaverse hub will allow users to create and play games and share experiences using its flagship products. They will be able to create space-based characters drawing inspiration from the traditional corporate world of tycoons.
The company’s new product targets the tech-savvy Gen-Z population that spends a lot of their time interacting online. The experiential virtual playground provides them with an integrated, metaverse experience where they can create and enjoy their very own Samsung products.
Commenting on the launch, Jinsoo Kim, Executive Vice President at Corporate Design Center in Samsung Electronics said the virtual hub will give users unlimited possibilities to experience virtual spaces.
“We wanted to give our Gen Z customers a chance to experience Samsung products in a way they have never done before. We will continue to showcase content that can deliver more meaningful and entertaining digital experiences for both our current and future customers,” Kim added.
The immersive playground is set in the Samsung Space Station and comes stacked with over 20 Samsung products, ready for purchase. The colours of the purchased items change randomly depending on the level achieved by the players.
The Space Tycoon metaverse will make its debut in 14 languages, including Korean, English, Chinese and Spanish. The company plans to add more features in due course, allowing fans to interact with one another, share their creations or attend exclusive virtual parties.
Samsun’s launched its Web3 campaign earlier this year when it announced that its latest TV model will have NFT integration. Recent metaverse products give the tech giant a firm grip on a rapidly emerging industry in the technology space.
