Reese Witherspoon’s media company Hello Sunshine has struck a storytelling partnership with women-led NFT collective, World of Women (WoW). The NFT project has seen a meteoric rise as its floor price more than doubled over the last month, going from 3.87ETH on Jan 10 to its current floor of 9.69 ETH.

Under this partnership, Hello Sunshine will expand and franchise the World of Women character universe, turning the NFT art into entertainment properties including feature films, scripted and unscripted TV series.

Together, Hello Sunshine and World of Women will also host a live event featuring other diverse women-led projects to raise awareness about women in the NFT space.

“Hello Sunshine has been changing the narrative for women in Hollywood and we know they can play an instrumental role in shaping the narrative for women in the NFT space,” Yam Karkai, co-founder and artist for World of Women, said to Variety. “As an artist, this is new territory for me, and I could not have envisioned a better partner to expand the ethos core values of our beautiful community through storytelling in new and innovative ways.”

Witherspoon has been vocal about her support for women-led projects in the NFT space, especially WoW as Hello Sunshine and WoW both share a mission of promoting female artists and authors.

“While the crypto and NFT space is largely dominated by men, there are inspiring leaders like World of Women creating incredible communities for women during this massive shift for media and technology,” Witherspoon told Variety. “We’re proud to partner with WoW to expand their universe of characters and to develop innovative scripted and unscripted content. We look forward to engaging with the remarkable WoW community at every step of this partnership and creating opportunities for WoW holders to work collaboratively with Hello Sunshine on transforming the WoW art into powerful stories.”

Following the announcement, WoW holders – who now own the IP rights to their NFT art – have offered up the WoW NFTs in their collection for features.

World of Women NFT collection has generated a trading volume of $120 million. The collective will be releasing its second collection, Galaxy of Women, this year.

Last month, talent manager Guy Oseary signed the project for representation, which opened doors for WoW to “explore opportunities in film, television, music, among other categories.” He also represents Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).
