Quick take:

  • QuickNode has announced its acquisition of Icy Tools in an undisclosed deal.
  • The leading blockchain infrastructure provider is buying the popular NFT analytics platform to offer more products to its NFT API customers.
  • The two platforms will offer NFT developers analytics tools, pricing data, and node infrastructure.

Leading blockchain infrastructure provider QuickNode has announced the acquisition of Icy Tools, in an undisclosed deal. The company is buying the NFT API  and analytics provider to expand its product offering across multiple blockchains.

According to the announcement, QuickNode plans to offer analytics, pricing data and node infrastructure to project developers on Ethereum, BSC, Solana, Polygon, and more through one seamless integration.

Icy Tools provides consumers and investors with NFT analytics and market reporting to facilitate more technical analysis of NFT sales. NFT traders can then use that information to identify the best non-fungible tokens to buy.

The platform draws information from leading NFTs marketplaces and aggregator platforms including OpeSea, Genie, and Looks Rare, among others.

QuickNode plans to integrate Icy Tools API directly into its existing platform, thus expanding the array of possibilities offered to QuickNode NFT API customers.

Commenting on the acquisition, Jackie De La Rosa, COO of QuickNode expressed the company’s excitement about the opportunities created by integrating Icy Tools into its platform.

“This is a natural fit for QuickNode because NFT integrations require sophisticated blockchain infrastructure behind the scenes,” she said.

Alexis Ohanian, founding and managing partner of 776, an early stage QuickNode investor echoed those remarks adding: “We were already bullish on the power of QuickNode for developers but the acquisition of icy.tools puts QuickNode at the forefront of NFT development, creating an integrated web3 development and analytics platform.”

The deal provides that the Icy Tools analytics platform will continue to operate independently, while the API will eventually be integrated into the QuickNode developer platform. After the integration, QuickNode customers will gain immediate access to real-time NFT data on demand.

The blockchain analytics and infrastructure segment of the industry have become a key focal point for companies looking to exploit opportunities in the burgeoning Web3 space. As the market grows, investors will need more tools to analyse the best projects to put their money into.

QuickNode’s acquisition of Icy Tools puts it in a strong position to benefit from the expansive growth of the industry.
