The gDEX (Decentralized Finance Gaming Platform Exchange) has unveiled its core leadership team made up of crypto and gaming veterans from around the globe. The play-to-earn platform powers blockchain games, creators and guilds and acts as a unified GameFi layer enabling interoperability across the metaverse.
gDEX is founded by Web3 and fintech veteran J.D. Salbego, who has been a strategic leader in the blockchain space for over seven years. He has held various roles in different blockchain and fintech ventures including Hong Kong-based decentralised investment banking group and FinTech consultancy firm, Coinstreet Partners. Prior to this, Salbego founded AnRKey X, a multi-release GameFi studio, in 2020.
COO Sonalii A Abrol has a track record working with global teams at renowned AAA games publishers and developers such as Nintendo Australia, Gameloft Australia and Ubisoft India. In her role, Sonalii brings with her nearly 15 years of expertise across digital business operations, strategic growth initiatives, digital marketing and analytics, brand management, organizational communications, team building, and motivation.
CTO Benj Roberts has over twenty years’ experience building development and operational technology teams across traditional finance, FinTech, and blockchain-based financial services like JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, Barclays Capital, and TD Securities. While at JP Morgan, he worked on their Quorum blockchain, for decentralized large-payment interbank settlement (~$26BN across 7,000 transactions).
With over 15 years leading marketing and communications for gaming and content across businesses at Disney, CMO Sesha Kanthamraju joins gDEX to lead the marketing and communications strategy and rollout. At Disney, he launched numerous games across console to mobile and then online and social including the hugely successful Disney Infinity series, and built fan communities for Star Wars and Marvel across the region.
The head of games, Ian Tan, is the founder of Esports Business Network. He played an integral role in creating the major Web3 play-to-earn Esports tournament “GalAxie Cup” with Axie Infinity, FTX, AAve Grant, that GuildFi won.
Senior lead software engineer Julian Muro, who has worked on well-known titles including Sega, Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Assassin’s Creed, and Call of Duty, is also part of the team. gDEX’s head of guilds & ecosystem, Adrian Sim, has co-founded two play-to-earn guilds and has organised educational programs onboarding Web2 gamers to Web3 and crypto in his guilds.
Head of partnerships, Cher Chung, has provided token advisory, led investor rounds and is a shareholder in NFT, DeFi and Web3 projects while head of marketing Rohit Kundliwal was cryptocurrency marketing manager at WazirX. Product manager J.B Andrew has over eight years’ experience in the gaming industry, but is now focusing on the metaverse and NFTs at gDEX.
gDEX hosts a suite cross-chain guild management tools and DeFi fueled GameFi token economy for gamers for creators to onboard games easily, and for guilds to grow — all attached to their unique metaverse passport.
According to statistics on its website, gDEX has 160,000 community members, $55 million gaming total value locked and more than $1.4 million in integrated game revenue.
