Quick take:

  • Shardeum has hired Kelsey McGuire as its Chief Growth Officer.
  • The Web3 advisor previously worked at CoinFund as Chief Marketing Officer.
  • She also held the position of Experiential Marketing Head at ConsenSys in 2020.

Kelsey McGuire is joining Nischal Shetty’s Shardeum as Chief Growth Officer (CGO). The Web3 advisor brings a wealth of experience in building web3 communities from her previous roles at CoinFund and ConsenSys.

Prior to her appointment, McGuire was the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of CoinFund. She also served as the Experiential Marketing Head at ConsenSys in a previous role.

Kelsey will be spearheading Shardeum’s global expansion strategy as the EVM-based L1 smart contract platform looks to significantly increase its impact on the Web3 ecosystem.

She will be part of the team tasked with developing new creative campaigns to educate the audience and make decentralisation accessible to the masses.

“We have something special with the tech and the team,” Kelsey said. “Shardeum’s incredibly community-oriented approach really resonates with me. I’m thrilled to be part of the Shardeum team and excited about the opportunity to work with such a talented group of people.”

Kelsey is joining Shardeum on the heels of the company’s betanet Sphinx launch in February 2023. The launch allows Sphinx community members to run validator nodes on the network. The community now runs 99% of the validator nodes.

According to the announcement, the Sphinx network now boasts over 25,000 validators, potentially making it the most decentralized testnet in Web3.

McGuire’s appointment also arrives in time for a planned promo campaign over the next six months with Shardeum scheduled to “attend community events and showcase our commitment to the Web3 ecosystem.”

“We are confident that Kelsey’s expertise and vision will help us reach new heights as we continue to build our presence within the Web3 community,” the company wrote in a press release on Tuesday.

On the other hand, commenting on Kelsey McGuire’s appointment as CGO, Shardeum co-founder Nischal Shetty said: “We are thrilled to welcome Kelsey to the team, as her experience and passion will be instrumental in driving our growth and expanding our reach within the web3 ecosystem. We look forward to working with her to build a better, more decentralized future for everyone.”
