The latest funding round also attracted investments from OKX Blockdream Ventures, Mechanism Capital, Morningstar Ventures, Huobi Ventures, and Shima Capital, among others.

Angelic has incorporated Solana’s proof-of-stake blockchain platform to add blockchain-gaming items, enhancing user experience in the immersive metaverse gaming ecosystem.

The company is turning what used to be a single-player role-playing game into a massively multiplayer RPG based on blockchain technology.

Commenting on the fundraising, Yat Siu, the co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands said “Angelic is building a massively multiplayer metaverse with a deep gameplay layer enriched by a sophisticated backstory. We believe this is the right approach to help bridge the divide between blockchain games and AAA titles.”

Echoing Siu’s comments, Paul Veradittakit, Partner at leading blockchain investor firm Pantera Capital said his firm was excited to help bring the exciting Angelic game to the world of blockchain gaming

“We’ve looked at many projects and can say that this is one of the few games out there that has a sophisticated enough design to be a staple of Web3 gaming for a long time to come,” he said.

Several mainstream game developers have already embraced metaverse blockchain gaming with titles dedicated to the new immersive world. Jam City launched Champions: Ascension earlier this year, while Ubisoft launched its own blockchain gaming platform built on Tezos despite facing strong opposition from gamers.

Yat Siu’s Animoca Brands once again continued to demonstrate its commitment to investing in GameFi projects, as it seeks to bring the open metaverse to the masses.
