Quick take:

  • L’Officiel has partnered with Petaverse avatar platform Dogami to expand its metaverse strategy.
  • The fashion and media company has also bought a plot of land in The Sandbox’s metaverse and Israeli fashion brand DRESSEX.
  • L’Officiel is marketing the magazine’s Metamonth with a flurry of web3 products including a worldwide virtual and in-person experience through its websites.

L’Officiel is pivoting to the metaverse after announcing a series of Web3 partnerships. The company has partnered with popular Petaverse avatar platform Dogami after purchasing a digital plot of land in the Sandbox’s metaverse.

L’Officiel is a product of Hong Kong-based investment group AMTD Idea. The company also announced a partnership with Israeli-based fashion brand DRESSEX, as part of its multi-pronged strategy for the Web3 space.

The company’s new product will headline its popular magazine Metamonth issue this year, which takes place in June. It will involve “a worldwide virtual and in-person celebration and exploration of Web3 throughout 32 in-language websites and print editions, and a number of exclusive events,” L’ Officiel wrote in a statement on its website.

Launched at the Plage du Martinez in Cannes on May 26, the collaboration with Dogami was promoted using the crypto-themed catchphrase “Let’s Mint The Party” in a special celebration of exciting Web3 and Metaverse initiatives.

The companies have scheduled two major events to follow the announcement of their partnership.

They will release exclusive Dogami NFT wearables in collaboration with Gap. In the upcoming June Issue of the L’Officiel, a Dogami dog will lead the promotion campaign by wearing one of the exclusive Digital Gap Hoodies designed for Dogami avatars by Gap. The Hoodies are available as NFTs, allowing gamers to use them on their pets in the mobile game.

There are also plans to create an exclusive L’Officiel Dogami fashion dog in fall 2022.

Commenting on the partnership, Benjamin Eymère, CEO of L’OFFICIEL and Chief Metaverse Officer of AMTD Idea, said:

“Partnering with a Web3 pioneer such as DOGAMÍ is part of our mission at L’Officiel. We want to rethink how fashion and style can be supported by the Web3 industry.”

Creating L’OFFICIEL’s virtual DOGAMÍ avatar with our community is a very exciting challenge, which we expect will generate lots of new Web3 conversations,” he added.

On the other hand, Dr Calvin Choi, Global Chairman of L’OFFICIEL Inc. SAS and AMTD Group, commented:

“AMTD interconnectivity is now extending to the PETAVERSE, and we can’t wait to see how the partnership with DOGAMI will extend and generate the most innovative content for our worldwide community.”
