Gaming and music metaverse company Pixelynx has hired Kimberly Knoller as its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Knoller most recently worked as CMO for SongVest, an SEC REGA+ qualified music royalty platform that allows fans to invest in music.
Pixelynx is a metaverse project created by deadmau5 and Richie Hawtin. The company announced the appointment on Thursday saying that Knoller will oversee all marketing strategy and execution for PIXELYNX and its first game, ELYNXIR.
The game is expected to debut later this year.
Knoller founded the music management and marketing company The Knoller Group (TKG), in 2010. The company has worked with several music artists, gamers and influencers including James Taylor, Neil Young, Nirvana, and Josh Groban, among others.
Her new employer Pixellynx draws its team from both the gaming and music industries, with Richie Hawtin, and Joel Zimmerman aka deadmau5 joined by gaming industry veterans, Ben Turner, Dean Wilson and Inder Phull.
The company raised $4.5 million in a funding round led by Animoca Brands to create its gaming and music metaverse. Other companies backing the company include Solana Ventures, Alameda Research, Alumni Ventures’ Blockchain Fund, Hyperedge Capital, Republic Realm, SevenX, and Sfermion, thus giving it exposure to a wealth of expertise and experience in Web3 projects.
The company was looking to create a metaverse platform that lets music artists launch their own immersive environments. The project has gaming industry veterans with experience working at Activision, EA Sports, Epic Games, Ubisoft, and Microsoft.
Commenting on the appointment of Kimberly Knoller as CMO, Inder Phull, CEO of PIXELYNX said: “Kimberly has spent a career forging direct relationships between artists and their fans, a skill set that will be vital to us as we look forward to launching the first expression of our music metaverse ELYNXIR.”
On the other hand, Kimberly commented: “Inder and the entire team at PIXELYNX are spearheading a new cultural movement that will play an important role in evolving the music business of the future. I am excited to get started.”
