Italian fashion brand Diesel is dropping its new NFT collection on Rarible on Mar 12. Dubbed D:VERSE, the NFT collection is based on Diesel’s autumn/winter 2022 fashion collection which was showcased at Milan Fashion Week earlier this month.

The whitelist to the NFT collection will close at the same time the D:VERSE community opens. Those who have been whitelisted will have access to a pre-sale window for the NFT drop.

According to the website, D:VERSE has just opened today. The public drop of the NFT collection will happen on Mar 12 and will be available for 55 hours. An auction for a 1/1 rare NFT will also take place on Rarible on Mar 12.

Buyers can pay for the NFT with fiat and crypto and Diesel will be offering a tutorial on how to set up an e-wallet.

Holders of D:VERSE NFTs will have access to a private discord channel and the D:VERSE key which grants users exclusive rights to NFT pre-sales, raffles, metaverse wearables and more.

Diesel has previously launched a sneaker NFT in November to mark the launch of its debut sneaker, dubbed the PROTOTYPE. The brand worked with digital fashion house The Fabricant to create a limited edition NFT of the sneaker.

The denim brand follows other Italian fashion houses such as Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, and Prada in launching NFTs.

Dolce & Gabbana dropped its first NFT collection, Collezione Genesi, on luxury marketplace UNXD on Sep 1 last year. The collection sold for $5.65 million.

Gucci’s first NFT was its Aria film which was auctioned off on Christie’s at a final sale price of $25000 in June 2021, with proceeds going to UNICEF USA.

The Italian fashion house announced its second NFT drop on Jan 18 and set up Gucci Vault, an experimental online space that houses Gucci’s NFT and metaverse projects. Gucci also purchased land in the metaverse to build its own virtual world.

Prada collaborated with Adidas and digital artist Zach Lieberman for its first NFT project titled ‘re-source’. It’s an interactive dynamic platform that enables the community to contribute to a large scale artwork through play and discover the transformative benefits of web3, co-creation, digital ownership and NFTs.

The final artwork of the Prada x Adidas NFT was auctioned off on SuperRare for 30 ETH.
