Prince Harry and Meghan are expanding their campaign for systematic cultural change into the metaverse. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly building a 3D virtual world where they will be able to reach millions more people across the globe.

According to an exclusive report by The Mirror, Harry and Meghan have teamed up with the metaverse platform pax.world to create Meg-averse, an immersive world where they will be able to interact with the global audience.

Although industry experts maintain there is no clear definition of the metaverse, most companies involved in the space describe it as a 3D virtual space where people can interact immersively through gaming, virtual concerts and other experiential events.

In Meg-averse’s case, Harry and Meghan could use their virtual universe to hold events, meetings and talks for fans. The news comes at the back of the couple’s $100 million mega-deal with streaming platforms Netflix and Spotify.

An industry insider told The Mirror: “Harry and Meghan have already gone global. This would take them into a different stratosphere.”

Commenting on the report, Pax.World’s founder Frank Fitzgerald said: “We’re offering Harry and Meghan a plot of prime pax.world land and the chance to collaborate with the world’s leading architects, build on it, and connect with new audiences. If they are to pursue business and entertainment deals, position themselves as thought leaders, and progress their charity work, they must partner with a platform that shares their values.”

Harry and Meghan are following in the footsteps of other A-list celebrities that have announced metaverse projects. Justin Bieber, rapper Snoop Dogg and socialite Paris Hilton have all launched metaverse-based experiences for their fans.

A source close to the two royals said: “Both Meghan and Harry believe they will have an even greater ability to spread their message if they have a presence in the virtual world as well as the physical world. They’ve spoken to a variety of experts and the view is this is the next stage to take their brand truly global.”

The report suggests that the deal could also enable Harry and Meghan to offer various experiential activities including gaming and online communities where the couple appear in 3D avatars of themselves.
