Coinbase has just filled a leadership position for its upcoming NFT marketplace. Blockchain and fintech veteran Lory Kehoe announced on LinkedIn today that he is starting a new position as Director of NFT Success at Coinbase.

In his new role, Kehoe will lead a global team to provide concierge-style support and services to Coinbase’s most important creators and collectors at scale, as well as hands-on customer onboarding and VIP support, product demo walkthroughs and account management.

His team will also guide clients step-by-step through Coinbase’s NFT marketplace and act as trusted partners on all things NFT and crypto.

Prior to joining Coinbase, Kehoe was Director of Digital Assets & Blockchain at corporate investment banking company, BNY Mellon. He was also formerly the managing director of global blockchain SaaS technology company ConsenSys, where he founded, scaled and led ConsenSys Ireland.

Kehoe has also held senior positions at Deloitte and Accenture. Besides corporate experience in traditional finance, fintech and blockchain companies, he also has experience as an educator.

Before his career as a management consultant in financial services, Kehoe was a lecturer in Strategic Management. Currently, he is still a part-time adjunct assistant professor of Technology Trends & Strategic Information Systems at Trinity College Dublin, a position he has held for 14 years.

Mirroring the trend of top talents from tech giants jumping ship to Web 3 companies, senior executives from the traditional finance industry are also taking up new positions in crypto and NFT platforms.

Kehoe is the latest executive from BNY Mellon to make the jump into a crypto company. He brings over eight years of blockchain, digital assets and crypto experience to Coinbase, along with a background in traditional finance.

Last June, James Taylor, BNY Mellon’s former Global Head of Electronic Foreign Exchange Sales joined digital asset smart exchange ecosystem Unizen as Chief Business Development Officer.
