AIR MILES has collaborated with and Metaverse Group to bring its reward program to the metaverse. The company offers customer rewards to brands across Canada, globally and on digital platforms. 

And now, it is extending the same service to the metaverse, becoming the first brand-agnostic loyalty program in the 3D virtual world.

AIR MILES claims that its ecosystem currency is currently offered in more than 300 brands and at thousands more retail and service locations across Canada. The company also boasts millions of Canadians that carry the AIR MILES card in their wallet a mobile app.

The company wants to take advantage of its huge user base by creating channels that its partner network can use to connect with customers in the metaverse, leveraging the rapid adoption of the burgeoning industry.

Commenting on the partnership, Shawn Stewart, President of the AIR MILES Reward Program said: “As an organization, we are exploring every opportunity to create meaningful connections between the brands we partner with and the customers who engage with AIR MILES every day, including expanding our partnership models in a more open and flexible world.

Web3 is a blockchain-based internet that prioritises user-centric products and trustless communications. It is also the technology underlying most metaverse platforms— 3D virtual spaces where users can interact immersively, through gaming, virtual concerts, and other experiential events.

Brands including Nike, Gucci, and Adidas have taken advantage of the rapid adoption of the metaverse to extend their product offering into virtual spaces. AIR MILES wants to create an enabling environment for brands to continue building strong relationships with customers in the metaverse through its popular customer loyalty program.
